If you are in the category of patients who are more likely to suffer complications such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinus and ear infections were they to contract flu, we strongly recommend that, before the worst of winter sets in, you arrange your annual flu immunisation.

This year there are 2 vaccines available – one for eligible patients under 65 years of age and one for all patients over 65 years of age.  Supplies of the vaccines for the over 65s will be arriving week ending 27 September (APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW).  Supplies of the vaccines for the under 65s are scheduled for delivery week ending 11 October  (APPOINTMENTS WILL BE RELEASED SOON)

Please telephone to enquire if you are eligible and to book an appointment with our Practice Nurses or Healthcare Practitioners.

Our Saturday morning Flu Vaccination Clinics for eligible patients will be held on 28 September 2019 (over 65s only), 12 October 2019 (both groups) and 02 November 2019 (both groups) between the hours of 8.00am and 12.00pm.  These are NOT walk-in clinics, so please contact reception to book an appointment.

Please note we will not be offering the child nasal spray at these clinics.

***Fantastic News! We are proud to be a parkrun practice

We are delighted to announce that we are now a parkrun practice.  This will help us improve the health and wellbeing of practice staff and patients.  Despite the name Parkrun, they absolutely welcome walkers - if you want to walk a bit, or walk the whole lot - that is fine.  Parkrun is open to all abilities.  They also need help each week with volunteers and course marshals, without which Parkrun would not be able to go ahead.

GP practices are being encouraged to link with local parkruns to become a certified parkrun practice.  This is a ground-breaking initiative with The Royal College of General Practitioners and parkrun UK to see physical activity prescribed to patients instead of medication.  Click on the Parkrun logo above for more information on the Pontypridd Parkrun.
